Hello guys! My name is Lynette and this is the first blog that I am writing for my own brand - RubyLoves. I’ve written many blogs, reviews & articles for other brands. In fact, one was recently published in The Guardian woo-hoo!!
All about me and My daily Self-care routine
I’m a busy mum of two amazing children and I thrive on living life and sharing my creativity with the world.
Running a successful business for me means doing what you love and sharing your knowledge & passion. My goal is not to reach a place of perfection but to be truly authentic and just be myself. To get this balance right it all starts with me and basically its about having a fulfilled life with meaning & purpose...otherwise what is the point? It’s so easy to slip into auto-pilot and not really live your true life. After all, we are not here just to exist and survive we are here to live to our full potential and go after those dreams. I believe that what we do every day, our daily routine, where we focus our energy defines what we achieve.
So I thought I’d put together some of my self-care habits. I have only recently implemented these into my life but wow the difference they have made. I sort of did these before lockdown but not regularly. I’d do them when I had the time and I have to say that time would only be made once I’d done everything on my to-do list.
6 am - Yoga & Meditation - I’ve practiced Yoga for over 20 years and I just love the way it makes me feel. It’s such a lovely uplifting way to work out and it really stretches out my whole body. Meditation has always been something I have wanted to try but never had the time….I know, I know surely I could find 10 minutes in my day but I really didn’t think I had time for anything else in my life. I use 2 empowering apps to meditate; CALM and THE SCOUSE GURU which are both truly life-changing. I feel like i am in tune with my mind & body and really nurturing my true self. I call these 2 practices my anchor.
6:45 am - Smoothie - So I love to blend up a vegan protein powder with fruits, spinach and coconut milk. I also put some turmeric & ginger in too to really boost it. Then I work for a few hours on my business which could involve social media planning, updating my website with fresh content, and watching motivational podcasts/videos.
8:45 am - Wake the family up for a lovely healthy breakfast.
I love to do a weekly facial, so I do a double cleanse, exfoliate, moisture mask, serum and then apply moisturiser to finish and this gives my skin a weekly boost. I usually have a soak in the bath, cleanse & exfoliate and then while im in the bath ill put a moisture mask on it really does feel so pampering. Then I will use my serum & moisturiser. I love to use Molton Browns Cypress Sea foaming bath for my ritual nightly soak the smell is so fresh & clean. This totally relaxes my whole body and gives me 20 minutes to listen to an inspirational podcast. We all need a reminder or booster to keep us in the right mindset.

I cant wait to share them with you. I have to say without implementing my daily routine I would not be here now typing this blog and have the next year of blogs planned out.
